We are currently seeking an entry-level Survey Instrument Operator for a full-time position in our St. Louis, Missouri office. Job Description: Under the direct supervision of the Survey Crew Chief and Survey Manager, this position is responsible for assisting with daily operation within the Survey Department. Project emphasis is transportation engineering design for both public and private sectors which range in scope from small to multimillion-dollar designs. Services are provided to a wide range of clients that include state DOTs and other governmental agencies - municipal, county and state. Duties & Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive: Job duties may require both field and office work Responsible for Survey Equipment maintenance including calibration, function, and cleanliness, as well as inventory and restocking of supplies Transport equipment and supplies to the survey vehicle prior to travel to the jobsite and upon return from the jobsite; clean and prepare equipment for next use as needed Clear underbrush for instrument sighting; mark survey stakes as directed Operates instruments and measuring devices need to complete different types of survey work assignments including electronic data collectors as directed by Crew Chief to assemble company standardized information Learn and become familiar with descriptions, techniques, and coding for data collection Maintain clear, concise, and accurate field notes for field data logs Supports the Survey Crew Chief to efficiently complete tasks assigned to field crew Knowledge/Qualifications, Skills & Abilities: High school diploma 1-5 years of experience in land surveying Attention to detail and basic math skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with leadership and coworkers Valid Driver's License Physical Qualifications: Requires strong physical ability to walk long distances through a variety of terrains, lift and transport up to 50 pounds, and walk and/or stand for extended periods Demonstrate flexibility and/or agility, as well as hand dexterity to operate equipment/tools Willingness to endure any/all weather conditions, as well as possible exposures to poisonous plants, insects, snakes, and animals Ability to commute and/or travel long distances and/or stay overnight at project locations for extended time EFK Moen, LLC offers its full-time employees: Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Company Holidays Paid Parental Leave Health, Dental and Vision Insurance 401(k) with Company Contribution Company sponsored Short and Long-Term disability coverage Company sponsored life insurance coverage Professional License exam fee reimbursement Bonus Opportunities Support of professional organization membership and activities Work-life balance through a flexible, casual work environment A culture of mentoring and teamwork EFK Moen is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free Workplace.
